After Joy's post yesterday, I was thinking about all of the times I have felt the Lord come along side of me and involve Himself with me at a time I really needed to know He was there. I would love to hear of a time you really felt the Lord come along side of you? Is there a specific incident where you can remember and encourage others by telling of that time?
In 2000, I was taking a plane flight and was caught in St. Louis in a tornado warning. One minute they were announcing that you should go into the (specially prepared for tornado warnings) bathrooms to take cover, and the next, my flight was being announced. I was at a pretty low point in my spiritual journey of life, and was terrified to jump on the plane, but I needed to get home. My prayers were pitiful and desperate, but I went from extremely anxious to completely calm in a matter of minutes. It was the Lord comforting me with His reassurance that I would be ok. It was one of the most amazing "happened that fast" moments of my life and I renewed a relationship with Him as a result that has been so amazing!
ReplyDeleteThis snow day has finally given me some time to read these blogs. Yea! Thanks for your question as it is so good to take a minute and reflect on God's help in life's trying times. One that immediately comes to mind is when five of my children got chicken pox over a three week time. Our youngest son at the time was only 10 months and he was so sick! I did a lot of calling out to God for my kids and for my sanity and God really answered. He gave me some precious times with all of my kids, esp. rocking the baby. I had to miss an uplifting conference our mission had every year which was really disappointing, but God gave me perspective and I was able to find great joy in loving on my poor sick kids!
